This is the list of things I’d grab on my way out of the flames. Obviously there are way more things that I’d grab (like my tortoise of course) but some items just can’t fit in the picture, and I’m hoping this won’t ever happen. These are listed in no particular order:
1. Yellow beanie- I knit this myself and I’m darn pleased with it. Plus, the golden yellow is a beautiful color.
2. Framed photo- This is my fiance and I at his senior prom. I have a lot of mementos and love letters that I’d obviously go back for but I can’t fit all of those in one picture.
3. Photo album- these are all the old photos of my siblings and I after I was born. You can’t replace old photos and these are so important to me.
4. My Typhoon albums- I have one autographed by every member of the band and some just aren’t made anymore. This band is very near and dear to me and my fiance. It’s kind of “our“ band.
5. Dan Auerbach album- I listen to this album while doing work, and it puts me in a fantastic state of mind to get work done.
6. Glasses- they are a necessity if I were to lose my contacts, I have terrible vision.
7. Hearing Aids- another necessity for me to go about my day, plus they’re expensive!
8. Engagement Ring- for obvious reasons
9. Terri Kern necklace- I got this bee necklace at a troubling time in my life and it was everything I needed in that moment. I love her art and am so grateful to have a piece of her art to wear.
10. Wallet and Keys- another necessity
11. Sibley Birds- A bird book that I have used to log the birds I’ve seen and daydream about the ones I hope to see in the future.
12. External Hard-drive- This has a lot of memories, art projects, and photographs stored on here that aren’t stored anywhere else. I would be lost without it.
13. Binoculars- What I use to birdwatch. They provide me with a lot of joy and up close detail.
14. Canon Bag- This contains my Canon t5, the lenses, the cleaning equipment, and my memory cards. This is a vital part of my artmaking and the best way to preserve memories for me.
